So i had just gotten done driving my rig (03 tacoma) down the road to the beer store to gas it, wash it and get some beers. I came back and parked it and in the morning i tried to start it again. The truck wouldn't start and acted like the fuel pump had gone out. We didn't hear any pump noise, priming noise or anything so i assumed the worst. I went out and got a pump and came back to change it. As i pulled everything out of the gas tank i noticed that the out-flowing hose from the pump was disconnected. How the hell did this happen and has anyone else had any problems similar to this one???

Upon reconnection of the hose the truck fired right up and ran like a champ.

That doesnt make sense to me. I am using my stock sender in my fuel cell (97 4Runner). I am assuming it is the same design as your. 3 hoses 2 small 1 big. Big is vent, first 1 is fuel sent to motor and 2nd is return from motor (evap). I swear mine will pump w/o 1st hose being connected. Did you smell fuel at all? I am temted to dissconect mine tomarrow to see if it still pumps/primes.

Are you talking about an internal hose (in tank)?

yeah it was the 2 inch section of hose inside the tank going from pump to hardline. i just thought it was crazy that it would even come undone like that.
