I know a couple of y'all have this welder. Pretty sure @mcutler has one. I've had mine for about 10 years now and I've struggled with this thing since new. I had a buddies Miller here for a couple years and it was great, I had no issues with it. I can not stand this POS. BUT I just need to get it right I guess. I need a new gun and cable because the wire is getting wadded up and pushing the whole thing out of the socket. Any recommendations other than the stock one? It has a Magnum Pro 175L
Also it welds pretty hot. It has automatic settings but I have to set it lower because it's burns like it's welding 3/8' material all the time.
I'm not a great welder but I can not find a sweet spot with this thing and get any better because of wire feed issues and running hotter than it should.

Dang, I love the one I have. The presets are never right but get you in the ball park. My esab welder is a mess though. The line can’t even have a hoop in it or it wads up

Guys a have worked with in the past liked Tweco mig guns. No personal experience
Tweco is what our fab shop runs on all the machines. Personally, they never seemed extraordinary. But they do seem to work just fine.

10' lead and .030 wire but was going to 035 for some heavier steel. .035 jammed constantly and even got stuck so it's out. Back to .030 for now.

Maybe the liner is too small? Do you know what wire size it’s for?

I have ordered a new liner for starts then we will see what's next. Also looking for some helmet lighting options because not being able to see is a big one for me.
I was going to suggest this. My Hobart 140 was being a pain in the ass, wadding up wire and feeding like crap, I swapped the liner and it's like new again.

Liner is correct for what I'm running. I have run .035 through it before but usually run .030. I made peace with it today and used it all day because I need to finish what I'm doing. It spit the lead out of the machine 15-20 times. My welds look like shit but I got to move on...

The new liner will probably fix it. It probably has a kink or damaged spot in it somewhere.

Well how about this, I put the new liner in and adjusted the length per the manual. The old liner was a good 1/2" longer and I had to push it back in the gun when I would take the diffuser out in the past. The new one fit perfectly. I ran .030 through and it did much better. I just put .035 in and I'll have a bit of getting used to it but I can tell it's MUCH better. I have hated this welder since day one. Who knew that it would have come from the factory set up incorrectly? It's the only mig unit I ever owned so I didn't know any better.
