Just ordered up some 4340's for my D30. I've been spitting out caps and wonder if i can weld the cap to the alloys?

to answer your question, yes you can weld to the 4340

As was said, use the full circle clips. They most likely wont warranty your shafts if you weld them.

Alloy USA with Spicer joints. Didn't occur to me that they might have the full circle....I'll hold off till they arrive on Tuesday.

They came with my Alloy USA chromos also with Spicer ujoints. I would expect yours to be the same.
