Should i weld the spiders front/rear in my yota, it will only be a dd for a month or too. I dont have the extra cash for lockers right now.
Want to hear all options or what not.
thanks

The front will turn fine while dd'ing as long as you are not in 4 wheel drive with both hubs locked in. I like my fronts solid with option to unlock a hub with a slip in the rear for dd'ing and for drivetrain slack. Most your weight is over the front tires for traction when needed and if you can't go forward without the rear locked, you can always go backwards!

I would probably do both too (and have). Just know that the front will eat axleshafts and in your case birfs. Steering isn't as bad as some people make it seem (in my experience, most that bash welded/spooled fronts have never even had one) but does bring the suck at times. You can always unlock one hub.

I have had both, and after having a locker I will never have a spool front again. When you go to turn the front will slide pretty bad. It want take him long to hate having to get out a unlock a hub every time he wants to make a sharp turn. Weld the rear and save pennys for a lock-right or the like.

I have not had a welded front, but have had an ARB front, and it sucked when locked and trying to turn. Not so much when it was a driving turn, but when you turn at a near stand still it will push forward, not wanting to turn. I agree with ibyota85, save for a lock-rite
