Went to Pull-a-part today

I went to Pull-a-part in Charlotte today. Came out after walking around for about an hour to this:

They stole my CD player and my craftsman tool set out of the back. Left my floor jack and CB though so it could have been worse.

they have cameras on the parking lot.....talk to the cool ass old dude cop that sits up there, he'll help ya.......sorry to hear that bud

That's a big negative. I talked to the cop and the manager. Manger said it probably wasn't on the camera since they have a limited view. They never even walked outside to see the incident. I go to pull-a-part about once a month. Now I'm debating weather to go back without someone keeping an eye on the jeep.
 
Maybe they'll give you a new one for free.:rolleyes:

That really does suck. I spend a fair amount of time there and have never had a problem. BTW, owning and driving a soft top jeep, that's the only place I feel compelled to lock the doors. Maybe I should reconsider. Cut tops suck.

problem is, idiot theives don't always even take the time to check the doors.
Have a bud who had his top cut to steal the radio when both doors were unlocked.
 
i go at least once a month.....and always leave my bigass toolbox on my pass seat and lock the doors...maybe ill think twice about that from now on....
 
It's a scam. They are trying to get more money out of you by making you buy a window and radio now. I bet they had someone watching to make sure you were not coming back, that's why they didn't go look at it when you went back inside. They already knew what it looked like.

Ya, but i got a feeling then they would have taken the CB on top of the dash and floor jack in the back seat too if they new when I was coming back.

Only if PAP sells CD players and jacks....they only stole stuff you could replace.


That said I would talked to the GM and let them know either they fix it or you sue/

Fixed it for you. Agreed that they most definately sell cd players and windows, so that's what they took.
 
This is the reason that we take all our tools in with us when we go. Its a pain in the rear to tote that stuff around but its better that it getting gone. Ive talked to alot of people that have had this happen and it always seems sketchy with all them people in the parking lot just walking around when I go.

I've been there so many times and everytime I feel so nervous about leaving the car alone. Sorry it happened. :(
 
Just got my new glass installed today thanks to glass doctors. The guy was pretty cool and did the job pretty quick. Turned out pretty good except for if you push on the glass with some force you can slide it down about 1cm. There is an adjusting screw that goes under the glass to hold it in place so I might move that up to compencate for the play. Also tommorrow I plan on going and picking up my new stereo and installing it. Hopefully this one will stick around.
 
yea...i went to LKQ in clayton last weekend and there were people all in the parking lot and sitting in cars. When it is busy, they could just wait until you walk in then bust your window real quick. i think i was the only white person there. literally. out of hundreds.

I thought that was where you were supposed to pull your parts?
Wait till the car you wanted came in, pull whatever out of it.
