BUT WHAT ARE THEY DOING IT FOR? Its a bunch of people strapping explosives to hammers and pounding them onto the ground. Is that like ethiopian christmas?

When big brother takes away all your guns that is what you are left with.
In a lot of places and even rednecks in the US make noise shooting there guns in the air for special events or like July 4.
They may have been doing the same thing because its that time of the year for them.
