What brake pads?

Im replacing the front pads on my k5 blazer and was wondering what kind to get. Advance sells several different pads ranging in price from $25-$60. They said they could order me some heavy duty pads and have them for me next day. Do I need the heavy duty pads or should I just get the cheap ones? My rotors are already in pretty bad shape so Im not worried about tearing them up with heavy duty pads but I was wondering how well they will stop me and how long they last. Thanks!

Get the softest pads they sell. Do not get the "lifetime warranty" pads (or shoes).
Brake pads are a wear item. They are supposed to wear out. If you get a pad that is hard as a rock, it will wear and warp the rotor. That is what most parts houses want. You come in to pick up your "free" set of pads and drop $75 on new rotors every time.
