What Critter Needs Killin?

Something has started chewing up the ends of the pergola over the back porch. Haven't had this happen before or seen anything up there yet. Critter looking for carpenter bees or other bugs in the cedar? Any guesses what it is?

That would be my guess too. They chew on our cedar siding to get in the eves out of the rain and cold. I hate tree rats.
