I am gonna be installing an electric fan on my 1995 YJ to try to squeeze a little more out of the 4 banger.I got a Taurus fan from the local LKQ and I am wondering how y'all would wire it?What do you use to turn it on and off? What would you do for the second stage fan speed?I have used the thermostat switches from Advance Auto but they are kind of Hokey. Thanks a lot.

I have fans out of a 05+ GM truck, and a custom wiring harness that plugs into the PCM completely PCM controlled, no thermostats. Oh and manual switches to turn them on myself, just because. :driver:

But really, maybe look into a flex-a-lite controller? They have a built in variable control to change from lo-hi, temp control, and switch on with AC. There are various options for the temp probe, there are some that insert into the fins of the rad(don't really like the idea, would have to set the turn on temp lower to account for it), screw one into the heads factory style if there's an open port, and I've also seen little Tees than go inline in the radiator hose and have a port for the temp sender.

I'm using the FK50P from Delta Control with a Taurus 3 wire fan. The cheaper $80 controller wasn't available back when I bought mine. I'd probably just go that route now. The FK50P varies the speed of the fan based on the temperature. It is pretty neat.

Sounds similar to the flexalite VSC, looks nice, and a great price though. I might look into that when I do efans on my 67.

I actually forgot about this write up that the genius CJ777 sent me a couple months ago when I first starting thinking about doing this.Assuming you have some wire around and a fan,you can build your own switching mechanism for less than $40.Plus the write ups that are linked from other sites are really helpful.

has it ben reliable?

is it on a daily driver?

I have never had any problems with it, but the rig is only driven or wheeled once every 2-3 months on average probably since I did the rear radiator with the fan controller about 2 years or so ago.

i have dual taurus fans in my 250 with an adjustable switch...i drive mine alot on the highway as well as wheeling and its done great so far
