I was wondering what everyone thought of these things and any advice and personal experience you all have had with them. Any kind or size thats better or worse and what can you store in them without them getting all nasty and wet and crappy inside. Thanks. O yeah and if you got a huge discount like 20 to 40% off would that help make the decision easy?? What is a normal price range on these things? Thanks and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!:bounce:

PS. Anyone doing anything 4x4 related today??

You missed out on a brand new Delta Pro a few weeks ago...

Honestly, check craigslist, I see them all the time for ~150.

Mine is a Delta "pro", and it's always kept my shit nice and dry.

you mean like a cross-bed tool box? i had one in my old truck, and i loved it. diamond plate delta box, it moved from my bros old truck to mine, we had it over 10 years, and it never messed up anywhere.

if you want things to look for, make sure it has good welds on the bottom piece, inside. mine came separeated, im not sure if the welds broke, but i just put pop rivets in it.

ok thanks

so is Delta Pro the best kind of tool box??? I need to look into this. Thanks. Craigs list huh??? Where do you buy them new??

tractor supply carries them, and home depot and lowes used to. also, any of those truck accesory places, you know, the ones with the rows of camper tops and truck steps, have them too.

on edit, the delta is about the best, from what ive seen. just stick to the aluminum diamond plate, they look great, and last for years. the plastic ones arent worth getting.

best price and service for buying one in the triangle that I've found is AGRISupply on 70 in Garner. Got a UWS box $75 cheaper than the same size/type box anywhere else.

Truck boxes.... In addition to what has been said..... IMO if it has a lot of flex it ain't worth a damn. The more rigid the better. Just my .02 though.

i have a deep box from lowes for $250 that was in the back of my truck and now is on my welding trailer, lots of room great quality good latches,
alot of boxes have cheap latches and your lid wont stay shut you get what you pay for

ditto, don't buy plastic. They'll sag in the middle if you have any weight in it.

I bought a alum diamond plate on CL for $50. Deepest box i've seen and holds lots of junk. But I think thest can sag a little too, so it's good to maybe put a block below the box.

If you want to put big or long stuff in it, best get the style that has one large lid

What do you guys think of bread? where bo you buy it? does it taste good? I don't think I have ever seen it for sale before.
Where can I buy some bread? somebody help me.

I have a kobalt in my work truck. POS! I have picked up some great boxes at agri supply on scratch and dent deals. To help keep them from splitting the welds only use one bolt on each side to attach them to your bed. The bed is built to flex. If you use two bolts on each side of the box then the box is trying to hold the bed and rear frame stiff so it takes a beating. The bolts only hold it from sliding anyway once you put all those tools in there.

I like it! Prefer the Merita brand though, seems to have the best closure device on it. I think I've seen them around at a few stores, sometimes even on sale! Sourdough is my favorite..

it's pretty decent plain...

but what ROCKS is to find some turkey, or roast beef...and make a sammich with your bread!!!

another decent alternative, as long as you have access to some power and a small appliance...is to toast your bread...then it's no longer bread, it's toast!!

YUM!!!

Greg

I am also fond of this substance.

However I prefer to add cheese to my bread and throw it in a fryng pan with butter, grilled cheese results....bad for the waistline good for the tastebuds....
