Putting a tf999 behind a 4.0 in my buggy. The trans I have is not a lock up. The non-lock up torque converter will not bolt to the flex plate that came with the motor so I picked up a flex plate for a non-lock up converter. Got it all put together only to find out the teeth on the outside of the flex plate are too far from the starter.... the starter teeth will not engage. Pulled it apart and looked at the two flex plates and there is a obvious difference.

What flex plate do I need for a non lock up converter?
Can I redrill the lock up flex plate to work with the non lock up converter without causing problems?
