What happened to nckrawlers

I wouldn't recommend clicking that link unless you're quite positive you have your machine very locked down and protected against malware/spyware/exploits... and no, I don't just mean anti-virus.

Typically when a site is hacked, in addition to a new title page and/or a redirect, vulnerabilities can be exploited through your browser to install/run commands.

Just your IT Security tip o' the day.. ;)

The usjeeps.com site was hacked too. It was down for about 2 weeks. NC Krawlers had a forum there too.

A couple months ago our site was hacked at they put a big pic of 50 cent on it. Now we are back-up and running. I can't belive someone would want to hack a site like that. HACKERS :fuck-you:

hacking is so easy to do nowadays. I think the people who mantain the sights should know enough to not get hacked.

It's a constant battle between the hackers and the administrators, but many times, it's just not feasable to install the newest version as soon as it comes out, or the vendor doesn't have a patch.. that's even if the administrator is top-notch.

Web site security is one of the toughest.. The more interactive you make it, the harder it gets from there.

It's not just a matter of knowing enough.. not by ANY stretch of the imagination.

I'm not at liberty to say what we use, but we employ ALOT of devices and software to keep our site up and the network secure here at work.

Please explain your methods and techniques so us semi-retarded shortbus window licking net admins can figure out what exactly we should do.

I use a company called shogini. They keep me very happy. i have had serveral people try to attack my website when the whole Pirate4x4 thing happened. They were not able to get in. I got emails from Shogini letting me know what is going on and everything.

I was trying to qualify your hacking prowess. ;) It is easy to say things like we should know enough not to get hacked but the truth is technology is evolutionary. As it evolves so do the threats. We try to stay on top of things but that isn't always possible. We try to take as many precautions as we can using the resources that are available. Plus we have to balance the usability of technology with our security needs. And sometime we just plain old drop the ball or neglect to do our jobs properly. It is a never ending battle and the game is never the same and that is what attracted me to this field. I am glad you are happy with your webhost but nothing is bulletproof so don't pat yourself on the back too hard.
