I'm fixing to get some new tires for my TJ. I'm getting
33x12.50x15's. I've always been a fan of BFG's. I want something with low road noise. What tires do you guys like?

I've always ran BFG's and they've always had low road noise. Might want to go with a street tire if you don't want to put up with the noise.

My old man used to run Dunlop Radial Rover A/Ts on his discovery back in the day. It is actually a pretty good tire! Decent traction, no road noise and lasted forever. Oh, did I mention they are cheap?? I was worried about sidewalls, I don't think they have good sidewalls but then again if you were worried about it, then you need a different class of tire!

Just stay off the muddy hills, they couldn't claw up a muddy slope to save their carcases.

The work trucks (Xterra's) have BFG Long Trails. They are ok. Suck in the mud but ok otherwise.

I've heard that the Goodyear Duratrac is pretty good, but that is from an unreliable source. Said individual thinks Dana 60s are stupid and that MT/Rs are better in the mud than TSLs. So, he is probably wrong but I think it is worth investigation.

Nitto Terra Grapplers have very low road noise until they start getting low on tread. Most people get about 40k out of these ATs. I've been running them and they're okay, but I plan to go with the BFGs next. The Nittos hook up great on dirt and sand and handle well on wet pavement. They do not do very well in deep mud, but will do fine in a muddy yard. You really have to spin them fast to clean them out.. They are cheaper than the BFGs which is a plus. However, I plan to run the BFGs because I haven't gotten the mileage out of the nittos I was looking for.

when i bought my TJ it had bfg's already on it. They seem to do great, but tread is getting low and they suck then. I want something that i can go offroad with when i want to. And my TJ is a DD.

The BFG A/T's are good in snowy stuff, and decently good offroad as long as mud isnt in the picture.

They dont clear mud AT ALL, and actually can get kinda dangerous. Almost slid into a tree because I had 0 traction.

on road use though, they are killer. Ive had mine for...2 years maybe now? They arent wearing very much at all.

If you can find the General Grabbers in stock, they're very similar to the BFG's but only 2/3's of the price.

X3-4 or however many on the BFG's. Get great mileage out of them and are pretty good for moderate off road use. Like was said about mud, not so good but I got to the ledge at Daniel in 2wd in my Yota with 'em. (I accidentally took the hubs out instead of putting them in and didn't figure it out until I got to the ledge and it wouldn't move forward).

Also Cooper has a really good looking A/T tire. There's the Cooper S/T and the more aggressive S/T-C. I've heard that they are quiet on the road and perform well off road. And I know for a fact the Nitto Tera Grapplers are pathetic in the mud. I'd say go for either the Coopers or get the BFGs.

is there a reason you're leaning against the BFGs? 'cause that's my vote too.
My TJ has bfg's on it now, and i have been very impressed with them, they have done what i have asked of them, but they are kinda expensive.

I used to have Bridgestone Duelers Revos on my old jeep and they did great on just about any terrain. They did well in the mud, great traction on rocks, I didn't notice any road noise, and cleaned very well. I would buy another set if I needed new tires.

Ive been running 33" goodyear wrangler silent armors and I have had the best experience with these tires. They are quiet on the road and have lasted MUCH MUCH longer than any other tire Ive ever run.

i have the michelin ltx on my bronco and i think they SUCK!

x1000 on the BFG KO's. I've had 3 sets on different trucks. They're great!

If you're looking for a bargain option... we have a set of Cooper all-terrains on our construction truck at work (I think they're ST's). They get the job done, and they were cheaper than the BFGs

anybody else know anything about the goodyear wrangler duratrac?
