what kind of carb for a stock 304????

Hey I have a stock 304 on a 1978 cj5. I have put headers on it. I was wondering what would be a good carb to buy for it. I was wondering brand and type. let me know what you guys think?

edelbrock and hlley are both good....opinions vary widely on both.
The old 2 barrel motor crafts have a good following as well.

That motor will be fine with ~600cfm and then pick you brand poison....

600cfm is probably too large for it actually. An autolite/motorcraft 2bbl with larger venturis would serve you well.

If it's a street only, I like the Holley 650.
If it will see mild wheeling the MC 2100 or a quadra-jet
For serious off roading I highly recoment the Impco 425 mixer(propane)

Motorcraft 2 barrel, mounted backwards, with a 88 E250 nthrottle cable (longer cable). Set the float a little low for wheeling.
