I have time warner now. The service is starting to suck and the prices are just getting higher. What other companies are you guys using?

Charter & they SUCK!!

Charter TV and Cable internet, broadband phone
Not too bad of service out here really, but then again it's all pretty new

Ive had the same problem with providers in the past. I am now on DirectTV and so far it has been the best features and customer service. Ive had TWC cable and it gave me problems. Ive had earthlink cable internet, which is contracted through TWC, was ok, TWC customer service stinks, earthlink not as fast as road runner. Then went to Clearwire wireless, absolutely horrible trying to get a signal, and super slow speeds. Great customer service though. I am now a recent convert back to road runner 10mb. So far so good. I wanted to switch to embark service, but price for price road runner is faster and a few dollars cheaper. Im about to get vonage phone service.

We have Windstream for internet. We use rabbit-ears for TV. Yes, you read right, we still use rabbit-ears.

FYI...AT&T is rolling out their actual TV service roll out in NC over the next year or so...first sites will be a couple central offices in Charlotte, around October of this year...Greensboro and Raleigh to follow...

the service smokes anything TWC offers...

We used to use Time Warner digital cable, and it sucked big fat donkey balls. Their distribution network in Charlotte is inexcusably bad, and EVERY time it rained we would lose service. A half dozen service calls failed to resolve the issue because it isn't a problem in our house. Of course they would lie and claim it was a problem in our wiring, but that was all bullshit.

Anyway, now I use Dish Network and Bellsouth DSL, and I'm very pleased with both.

I checked it out, and I don't see how. They don't offer anymore channels. The internet is not faster.

TWC offers the best HD and SD picture you can currently get. It is noticeably better than DirecTv's picture. I tried Direct last year, and even my wife noticed the difference in picture quality.
Direct's customer service is okay, as long as you are a customer. They suck after you cancel.

TWC's customer service probably isn't as good, but I hardly ever need them anyway. Storms don't knock out my TV. And when are you watching TV if not during a rain storm? Only time I've needed them was when we had a bad line to the house we moved into 3 years ago. Someone had cut it in the yard....they were right on top of it, ran the biggest cable they carry to our house, problem solved.

I'm anxious to get some new options and competition for TWC, don't get me wrong, but this new AT&T thing doesn't seem any better, unless it's significantly cheaper.

I'm more interested in getting FIOS around here.

We use Sudden Link for cable and hate it. We have extended basic (non HD or digital) and its over $50/month... We got rid of our internet at home as we have wireless on the laptop and can piggy-back on the service around town (and in our neighborhood) fairly easy (no need to pay for service when we can get it for free!!!). The customer service is terrible. The other week they cut my cable off (I moved) without me or my wife calling it in and wanted me to pay another activation fee to get it back on... Idiots! After talking to 7 people, I finally got it worked out.

I looked into other services, but all I can get is satellite, and they want CRAZY $$$ for their service so I'm staying with extended basic cable with Sudden Link.

Just a wee gigabyte fiber connection to NCREN! :flipoff2:

and at home, we have "the bird" for digi-TV, phone, & internet
. Outside of some junk they were doing to the phone portion (around 0030-0300 that made the fawkin alarm go haywire), the occasional (once a year?) cable fubar from a storm, we've had ZERO issues with internet bandwidth...

I've got DirecTV and Bellsouth, but I didn't have the option of cable where I live. The DirecTV seems to work fine, but I don't use it much. I got the bellsouth for the DSL internet, and it is slow compared to the RR I use to have in my apartment. It always works though, so that is nice cause I use it daily.

I have had every service possible... I use HD bunny ears now. We had comporium cable as of a week ago which is TWC I beleive but took it back b/c it sucked for the $80 a month we have to pay for one DVR box with no HBO's.. And if you do have the HBO's, the HBO HD channel NEVER worked.. I called and complained, but they didnt care b/c they have a monopoly. They said try another service because I threatened to cancel. Direct TV is not too impressive to me. Dish Network is awesome. We have Bellsouth DSL still but I hate it, its garbage. TWC internet is the best around right now. Im just highly dissapointed in the price and quality of Comporium cable right now. Its getting outrageous!!

No cable or bunny ears here, so I have no TV channels (maybe I should get some bunny ears). Don't really miss having TV, not hardly ever anything on anyways.

Don't have anything for internet either, the laptop BARELY picks up wireless internet, from someone, not sure who. Kind of slow sometimes, but it's free. I'll eventually get a solid line probably, just making this last as long as I can.

the AT&T U-verse pic is much clearer than TWC's SD picture...I'm still paying TWC (which is a painful task for an AT&T employee) because I never bit the bullet and switched to satellite...AT&T used to bundle DirecTV as their video service, now it bundles Dish...

and AT&T is big enough it will end up with the most HD channels...if we don't have it already...all kinds of deals in the works...

single DVR that you can watch in four rooms...control your DVR from your AT&T wireless phone...or your internet connection...

all kinds of other features currently there, and many to come...

advertised speed may not be faster than TWC...but I've known many people that have had both, and AT&T (BellSouth) always has a more consistent speed, regardless of how many of your neighbors are online...and I think the max plan is 12MB of internet included with the TV package...

direct tv/ bell south

not too bad
X3

Direct is meh, but they're the only ones carrying the NFL package, so they keep getting my $.

BellSouth DSL is meh, but besides going to TWC, they're the only broadband in my area. I'm just glad I'm not still on dialup.
