I have a 98 K1500 ex-cab 5-Speed and need something the wife can drive and has a 3rd in that case 3rd and 4th door. Anyway the 01 is a 2WD and the tires on it are 265/70/16. Looks as if there is enought room in the rear but what about the front? What would it take to lift it 1-2 inches? The truck is a 01 White base model long bed. Im guessing its a W/T model. I just want to put my rim/tires on it as tires are new BFG AT's and Alloy rims where the 01 are steal. truck has 134k miles and is $7800 seems like a deal. 5.3L with bedliner and tool box.

As far as tire size difference.
The diff between a 265/70/16 and a 265/75/16
70 = 30.606
75 = 31.649

or 1.04 inches.

When you figure that in half (half above and half below the rim) you only need an extra half inch of clearance. Air pressure will make that much.

Of course this could vary slightly if rim width is changed

my nieghbor just bought an 01 z71 fully loaded for $13k with 42k miles from a guy in raleigh.... came with new bfg mud terrains, chrome door handles from a denali, chome step tube sde things, diamond plate toolbox, chrome rails on the bed, and dual exhaust.... i'd keep looking personally.... i've owned one 2wd truck and will never make that mistake again.

but, if you want that truck, and want to put larger tires on it, have you looked into a leveling kit for it? that would give you an inch or two of lift in the front only...
