Ok heres the story

I sold a 4runner to a guy on here for another 4runner and a totaled cherokee and 1k. i didnt have the title for the runner at the time (was waiting for it to come back from Rtown.)
so we swaped trucks with him holding his title till mine came. I didnt recive any money at the time because i was told i would get it the following week. . I travel 1hr to pick up the cherokee and when i get there im told its not his and his dad wont let me have it. Well im pretty confused by now but he offers 500.00 cash instead so i take it but i slowly get it in small payments over a long few weeks (which was not agreed)He would say he was coming with the cash but only show up with 1/4 the amount owed or etc and say ill get the rest to ya soon and he still owes me 30.00 on it. I didnt bitch because i know money is ruff right now for some. So the time finally comes when my title comes back and i go to swap but guess what he dosnt have his and has to go get the PO to sign it........still havent heard anything or have a title the whole thing has gone on for 1-2 months and im starting to get pissed. Not counting the runner he traded me made it 5mins into rocky mtn loop before breaking down and the clutch droping out of it....and the rear diff leaking.....but im not mad on that i should have looked it over better.

So as of now i have a broken down pos runner 30.00 short on the cash deal and NO TITLE! i cant sell the runner without a title and not counting i gave the guy a killer deal and have now lost my ass on the deal by about 2k.

So what do you think should be done? i still have my title to my runner that he has. I have called a bunch left many voice mails and no replies. keeps giving me dates he will be at my house with money and title but never shows.

Dont know what to do here. Show up at his door with his runner and cash and take mine back? report it stolen so his title situation will be as F***ed up as mine? let me here some advice. :beer:
 
advise other party that as of ?????? date you will be reporting the vehicle stolen and giving 5-0 the address where you believe the vehicle is located. money is hard for you too, correct??
 
What happened to full payment and Exchange of goods at one time. You don't have the money, you don't get it, you don't have the goods, you don't get the money.

seems more and more we keep seeing these stories.
 
i was working with the guy on the deal. its what i get for being nice.

just would like the title so i can sell it.....he hasn't got on here in a while. Maybe there is a good excuse but would like to hear something....
 
I would take his POS back to him, and get yours back. As far as the money is concerned, I would deduct your expenses, and give back the rest.
 
How to buy/sell stuff
1. First with cash get the stuff.
2. If you leave there is no warranty, no cold feet, no my wife is pissed BS. I have your cash/trade, the transaction is OVER!!!
3. Next deal

Never had any issues with this method on either side of the equation
 
Did I get that Runner running again that day on RML? If so, I know a close friend of your purchaser's. I'll get in touch with him and see if I can light a fire under his ass. No promises, though. I'm not vouching for the guy, I'm just trying to get things right.
 
do you still have the keys? do a quick exchange and keep the money. I am sure you spent that money and time in eaither getting the runner working, gas on picking up and exchanging the trucks, plus intrest.

If he is there when you are exchanging.. simply drop his truck off and ask would he like to go to jail for a stolen vehicle, or consider the 400 dollars your intrest and fixing his POS? .. if you do that delete this thread
 
would be happy to just get the title and not have to go through more bs. Posted the thread hoping to get in touch with him and find out whats up?. If i dont hear something within a few days ill go route number 2. thanks

I'm with the others... and yes, Mark and I remember helping trace down that little eletrical grrmlin on the RML.
Time to admit that this one isn't working out, and return teh vehicles/swap back.
Since no titles have changed hands, it should be a simple done deal.
Now, technically, you also have HIS vehicle with no title - oh wait, no, he dosn't have it - so actually he has no claim, and has broken the law by not getting the title changed in teh first place (N law says you must change title w/in 30 days or there is an extra fine - wich is probbaly why he is dragging his feet).

Call him, email, AND PM a messge (so there's docs AND no excuses for not receiving) that he has 1 day to complete the transaction, else you will be showing up to do teh exchange, and if he balks, remind him the Popo are just a phonecall away.
Personally I'd try and work out a re-swap before pulling the "stolen" card.

Oh and, in my book, you still get porops for trying to work with the guy. Unfortunately this is the burn that comes with it.

I do not know if threating with the popo is a good idea untill you got proof it is there (if not it is your word against his) (with a picture... or an email where you call him out by his first name, address, and last name. make sure he responds.

I have been tattooed on a degi cam so I tend to be over excessive
 
ChromeRunner, I am Cameron (as you can see to the left ;D) and I am the one with the green F150 that trailered that 4Runner to your place.

I have talked with the other party (one sided I know) and he said he is in the process of getting the title to you, but had some stuff come up. Appearantly, there is a 15 day title transfer waiting period in this great state, so that is something else that is holding him up some as well.

As far as the $$, I cant respond to that, as I dont go digging into peoples financials, its not my place.

I will say that everytime I drove that runner, i didnt notice any clutch issues, and I drove it all day through URE before he started using it as a DD. It did have some heating issues when moving slow, but nothing too bad once some speed was picked up. I have not driven it since URE, which was in April.

Im not here to start shit, just throwing in a little observation that I have. Im going back to lurking.
 
sounds like crap to me. why would he not be able to post unless he didnt have internet.....or somebody stole the keys on his keyboard?
