Get your vehicle out on a neighborhood street, park, get out and run a thick chalk line across the whole tread. Drive strait up the road without steering. Stop and get out and look. The optimal psi will not leave any chalk on the tread. Chalk left on the edges, too much air, chalk left in the middle, not enough air.
when I had my tires.... 1 psi, until I wondered why it was driving like crap on the street--I had forgotten to air back up. I put something like 32 psi in, then was all good. the chalk trick is great.
YJ on 33x12.50s
Now I'm on 0psi since I don't have any tires to air up at all!
Thanks. I have did the chalk test on my 33s but I can go anywhere from 20-30PSI and The line still goes completely away, So I am just trying to see what other folks are running.
On the TJ I run 37" Pitbull Rocker radials at 20psi on the street and 5psi on the rocks (beadlocked).
On the H3 I run 35x12.5 r16's at 39psi on the street and about 16psi on the rocks. Lower than that and I run the risk of blowing a bead, as has happened at DPG .
