I've been seeing a lot of wheels & tires discussed and things like 5 x 5.5, 5 x. 4.5 which I gather are the bolt patterns. What I need to know is, which of those fit what vehicles? In particular, which pattern and size will my GMC S-15 Jimmy have? Standard "4x4" aluminum wheels.

i think its 5x4.5, same as XJ's, TJ's, BII's, and many others. it may be a similar metric pattern though

depending on what year it is it is not 5 on 4.5 but 5 on 4.75 I think. We converted one S-10 blazer from that to 6 on 5.5 to match the 44 we put in the front.

Measure between the 1st and 3rd wheel studs(center to center). That will give you your lug pattern. Note: 5x5.5=5lugs by 5-1/2".

Here is A quick bolt pattern Guide

6 x5.5 =Chevy 1/2 4x4, toyota 4x4, Full size Jeeps(1973+),and I think Isusu mabe some more

5 x5.5 =Jeep Cj, Fullsize jeep(1972 -), early bronco,full size Ford 1/2 ton 4x4, suzuki samuri, IH Scout.

5 x 4.5 = All ford rear wheel drive cars, ford mini trucks,Jeep (YJ,TJ,XJ,WJ......)

5 X 4.75 = GM rear wheel drive cars, S10's,

I am sure there are alot more but that is a general guide

Measuring from 1st to 3rd lug will not measure true for a 5-lug pattern, because you will not be measuring the full diameter of the bolt circle. The measurement will come out a little small. A rough guide is that a 5 on 4.5 will measure 4.25, a 5 on 4.75 will measure about 4.5, a 5 on 5 will measure 4.75 - you get the picture.

For a 6 or 8-lug measurement, you can measure across the full diameter from one stud to the other and get a true measurement.

Well, that's more info than I had yesterday. Thanks.
