Wheel spacers

I have an 84 CJ7 and was looking into wheel spacers. I saw a nice set on ebay, they are aluminum but they look kinda shady. Not just the set on ebay, but all the sets I look up on google. Are they just designed for off road use or are they safe to use on the highway all the time or what. If anyone has a set on anything let me know...before lose a wheel or somthing, lol. But I'd appreciate it.
 
If OK to ask, what is your reason for wanting wheel spacers? I ask because you have wide track axles in your 84, at least it should unless it's been changed. Adding a spacer is real hard on the wheel bearings. just wondering.
 
I don't really know....wider looked like it performed better. My friend has a cj like mine but he has spacers. He bought it like that down at the lemon lot on bragg. Just wondering. But my cj has the orignal axles.

I bought mine off Ebay...from sscramblin...zero complaints...
