I recently purchased a 1998 Cherokee (XJ) with Rubicon wheels. The wheels rub while making a left turn and slightly when making a right turn. My rear wheels are also very close to the leaf springs. The wheel studs also seem to be very short. There is approximately one inch of stud exposed from the brake rotor, it's barely enough for the lug nuts to apply proper torque. I believe this leaves me with two options: either install wheel spacers and keep the rubicon wheels or replace the wheels to something with the correct backspacing. If I decide to install the wheel spacers, are there any brands I should avoid? Will the factory studs still be too short to attach to a spacer? Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.
