Where does this go?

Found this in the bottom of my diff housing when I pulled the third.

This in a toy 8". Any answers would be helpful

Thats the outer oil deflector. Goes inside the tube out near the knuckle ball or bearing etc..

so how does that get into the diff housing area? Thats where mine showed up when i removed the 3rd for some maintnence.
