i'm looking to relocate my battery to the rear of the truck and cant seem to find a good retailer for small gauge wire. I tried radio shack and lowes/HD but they didnt have anything but residential wiring. Best buy carries stereo equipment grade wire for big amps but that stuff is stupid exepensive to get in reasonable lengths. If anyone could set me in the right direction i'd appreciate it.

summit and jegs etc sell battery relocation kits but for $50-90 i think i could save some money doing it myself

:stupid:

oh yeah, and ya can get it in various different colors. Graingers or Fastenal should be able to get it. Also, Tractor Supply or Northern

And NAPA.

wow, so many fast replies. you guys need to quit forum surfing at work :flipoff2:

off shopping i go. days off are good :huggy:

Advanced and AutoZone carry battery cable by the foot. Last time I bought some it was 1.47 a foot or something like that. Or if that dosnt work hit up an electrical supply house.

I got mine at a local welding supply store

I got enough to run cables front and rear for the winches and welder
set up for less than 70 bucks and the ends were 2.10 a pc
I needed a few for my project.

the guy even gave me proper instructions of how to install the soldered
ends correctly.

they had every gauge I needed for my project 0, 1, 4ga and the
appropriate ends. I found them on line as well. but the prices were comparable

the good thing about welding leads is they are gas and oil resistant as well.
and have a extra heavy duty coating for abrasion protection

Carquest also has welding cable. That's what I used for my power inverter. 'cept it was 00. Not cheap though. Like $130 for 25 ft. (I think)

agri supply welding cable, 4 gauge was .75/ft, 2 gauge was like 1.20/ft if i remember correctly

i went w/ the 2 gauge, got everything wired up now i just have to mount the battery permanently. Thanks for the replies
