Hello to all, new here to the board.

anyone know the best place (with the lowest prices) to buy DOM tubing and other steels? I have a place I buy general steel pieces from in Spring Hope that is much cheaper than Dillon in Raleigh, but the only round stock they have is sched 40, perfect for bumpers maybe but I want a cage that will hold up.

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure about Raleigh but I know the dillon supply here doesn't carry round tubing, which it is why it is soooooo high. I know several guys that get theirs from e.m. jurgenson in Charlotte. That's where I got mine.

I get 100% of my steel from Ryerson Tull. They have locations all over the US, 2 in NC that I know of.

they are by far, way cheaper than anyone else I've ever called for a quote, including delivery.

Are there any minimums?

your a little far from Hickory but Benco(bendoverco) has DOM and about anything else you want/need

The more you buy, the better your pricing will be. Especially if minimum pricing applies. I usually try and buy between $250 and 400 at one time, keeping a decent stock of common sizes of square tube, flats, angle, etc.

Makes it easier on a project, when you need something specific, and can just go to the pile and grab what you need.

Whole lengths are cheapest, rather than cut to specific or odd lengths. I aways buy in 40' lengths, and have it cut in half (no charge for that).
