Does anyone know anyone in Hickory, Newton, Conover, area that can balance 38.5 tires?

not a lot of places will be able to balance that size of a tire. An option you could do is put a few golf balls in the tire, or get some 'dyna beads'.

water/antifreeze....

you can take a short trip to Galloways 4x4 Truck Center in New London NC. They did my 40in IROCK's and they do pad balancing. And they guarante them to be right

Dont bother with balancing(although pad WOULD be the best)

Grab a handfull of BBs or golfballs. Anything else would be out of balance the first time you wheel and rip a few lugs up pretty good.

How can I get water and anti freeze in them? through valve stem? If so how much would I use?

You CAN put it through the valve stem, but you will need to pull the core out.
I busted the bead and dumped about 3 cups (not measuring, more like large stadium drinking cups) in each of my 38.5s Boggers

sigs tire did my 42 inch boggers

I talked to 2 tire places and they said adding water and anti freeze would only double the out of balance effect on the highway...So you guys are sure this will help...

Blueridge Tire in Lenoir did mine for me,Ive got 38's,did a fine job for me:beer:

I heard of people using bbs but never golf balls. I bet they woudl make a pretty good racket at low speed

golf balls

ive used golf balls in the frint tires on our semi trucks but never tried my boggers. i wonder how well they will work. ima try and let you guys know.

semi tires run in the 40" range and not very wide... a 40+" tire that is 12-20" wide should have no problems running golf balls.

YES IT WORKS. They didn't want you doing it because they wouldn't make any money if you did. Lots of tire shops keep balancing beads on hand for larger tires. Water, beads, golf balls, bb's, they all do the same. In theory, a liquid should work better than a solid.

oh yeah, if you use water, make sure it has antifreeze in it. large chunks of ice would not be good.

Shotglass full of BB's per tire does the trick for me.

Not sure I understand the physics behind the BBs/water. Wouldn't the centrifugal force put the contents at random places each time the tire is spun up? Is the theory that the contents go the the portion of the tire that is out of balance and stay there? Seems like it would make it more out of balance to me.

^^^lmao^^^

ok straight up. im gonna be running 38.5's on my toyota just how much of the dayna beads would go into each tire. and would bb's and or these dayna beads work the same. in theory i see how it would work. if it does work that would be awsome im tired of rebalancing my tires after chewing up some lugs on the trail.:bounce2:
