hey, i live in denton too.

Why not go with what was put on damn near all Ford Carbed engines.... Good ole Trusty rusty MC2100. you can even get it in a 4 barrel application if so desired. Hard to beat that Carb off road.

very true, the mc2100 is a great carb, but If you want to run a offroad carb this is how I look at it

Ford, AMC run the Holley Truck Avenger, I had a Edelbrock Thunder Series offroad carb on my AMC V-8, and it sucked, I built it, tuned it and still couldnt get it to run right, my buddy has a Holley Truck Avenger and loves it

alot of AMC V8 guys use the Edelbrock 1406, also

ford mc 2100 wrked good as an offroad carb in my wrangler.

Ya, I've certainly heard a bunch of good stuff about Holley Truck avenger, whereas I hate Holley with a passion after constantly havening to fuck with it to get it to run right.

The Number one bonus of an MC2100 over the Holley is the simple fact that you can pick them up for $20-$30 and rebuild kit for the same. If you ever do have an issue while out wheeling all you need to work on it is a 1/2" wrench and Flat head (sometime Philips) screwdriver.

Keeping shit simple is an added bonus on the trail in my book ;)

I didn't know there was a four barrel, do you know the model number? I don't even have a use for one right now, but I'd like to pick one up & rebuild it, to have on hand. EDIT; I found this; http://www.mre-books.com/interchange/interchange6.html in case someone else was wondering.
