which way is she spinning?

Well I see clockwise, and I got 17 beers in the hole...

Not sure how many more it would take till the botch switches...but she apears only 1 way to me.

It spins both ways. One way for awhile, then it changes. Nothing to do with your brain.

Damn dude....17 beers already?

It's bogus, though....the image switches directions. Watch it for awhile, maybe move your mouse around different parts of your screen like you're going to close the window and it'll suddenly change direction.

At first she is spinning clockwise, but if you stare away from her and see her in your perifieal then you can actually see her switch.

It is a brain thing, or perifeal(sp?) thing. She only switches if you glance away, and only in your mind. She never actually changes direction.

She switches for me when I'm staring right at her. When her arm is pointing away where I can't see it, I see a hiccup in the picture and she goes the other way.

Think I need some more info on this one.

thats odd, took me some time to get her to turn the other way but now when i look at it ive got her so she never faces towards me, just keeps going back and forth

I saved a copy and watched it. For me, occasionally she switches pivot legs.

Now I don't care which way she's spinning, but if she switches pivot legs, that tells me she changes direction occasionally.

It's what's called a bistable illusion. Technically either answer is correct, there is just enough information available for it to be technically one way or the other. it's just like the classic "gestalt" illusionsl ike the faces vs hourglass/ table leg etc.

yeah, the honest truth ist hat 75% of the lft/right brain stuff is just crap. There are some definite lateralities, but it'ss not nearly as clean as is often described.

The reason it is different for peripheral vs central vision is b/c it turns out that your visual system is functionally heterogeneous (yes that's a big word for 2 beers in) for different regions of space. Starts w/ the retina (rod vs coen vision) and gets really complicated from there. I could talk about thsi for hours, but everybody would get bored real real fast.

FYIW, I first saw it as counterclockwise, then thought about it, now it;s clockwise and I can't make it go away.

Mostly now I just see nice perky boobies going 'round in a circle.

Cool. Thats what I found too. Started clockwise, then I could switch it at will by looking away and catching her in my peripheral!

guess that means i have no brain, eh?

...with nipples! LOL!

dave, i was hoping you'd chime in.

ok, just for some background, it literally took me about 2 hours of just leaving it on the screen while i ate dinner, watched tv, etc. before i saw it change.

how did i make it happen?

first of all, i'm on firefox. i right clicked on the pic and clicked view image. then i opened a new tab. this created a TINY little pic of the girl spinning on the tab, while i was viewing another page. i was able to force myself into seeing her spin the other way, then open the window to see it.

it still takes some work for me to convince myself she's spinning counter0clockwise, then "see" it.

i really wanna know the breakdown behind this.

that bitch is a nymph she goes both ways

Am I only one who saw here spinning counter clockwise first?

Duane
