hey guys i retro fitted a ford carb on my jeep and i have to install a manual choke, as the electric choke dosent work on this new carb. 9 dollars later and what was supposed to be 10-15 minutes of installation has turned into me being ready to burn this mother fucker to the ground...

i know someone who knows carbs will be able to throw this thing together in no time. ill get pizza and beer for anyone who wants to help throw this bastard on there, or if your not hungry or thirsty i could throw someone 10-15 dollars for gas and time, like i said should take long at all.... and hopefully someone is in the area

btw its not that i dont understand it, its that i cant get it to work how it needs to, so explaining it probably wont help

hit me up on here if you can or want to help i live in winston salem (wallburg/hwy 109 area) anyone around here?

thanks guys

I'm in wallburg too. If you don't get it figured out today, PM me tommorrow and I can take a look at it. BTW, what carb are you trying to fit onto what engine?

thats crazy, but cool. im putting a mc2100 with 1.08 vents on my 88 wrangler, probably a tie for the most common swapped carb. aside from the weber

btw definatly havent got it figured out, so anytime tomorrow would be awesome.

how old are you? i live like a mile from the dominos and food lion and all

Not trying to be mean

But the MC2100 is the simplest carb I can think of. What exactly are you trying to do? Did you take it apart and can't get it back together now? You've got it back together but the jeep wont run right?...???

no im trying to do the 2nd easiest thing EVER besides the easy mc2100 and thats install the manual choke, its simple, easiest concept ever 20 minute job, BUT i think i have 2 choke tangs instead of one, which is common, and i think one might need to be bent 90*, the manual choke shaft is not catching the tang

hopefully chris will be able to help me, i would ask for advice but i pretty much know how its supposed to work just cant get it to work :(

Yeah, it was years ago...but I installed a manual choke on a 2100 and I'm pretty sure I had to bend one of the tangs to make it work. Either way, it was very simple as you said. Don't overcomplicate it, and don't worry about modifying things either...

If you don't get it over the weeknd, hit me up on Monday. I'm pretty decent with the 2100s... OTH, they ARE the simplest carb ever

hey man, i definatly havent gotten it, i tried for about 30 mins and just gave up until i got some help...

im definatly not trying to overcomplicate anything, for some reason i just cant get it to grab the tang and open back and forth

anyway caver dave, hit me up 336-403-9071 if i dont answer just shoot me a voicemail and ill call you back asap. i really would appreciate it.

im pretty sure i have your number, i called someones number a while back and left a voice mail. but im not sure it was the right one, haha

the 919 number?

whats a good time to call? i get out of class at 11 im free all day after.

So, you got the carb on and it's running OK?...

But can't figure out the man. choke linkage?

If it's running and rolling, stop by the office (between the W-S City Hall & the Cnty. jail) and I'll take a look...

nah i wish it were running ok, i cranked it, and a electric choke wire shorted out and burnt a lot of wiring, i had been meaning to convert to a manual choke for a while, now after fixing everything i am. also no tags or insurance i appreciate the offer though
