Im looking to getting a set of tires and possibly rims if the price is right. I have a 2005 Silverado Z71 and need to have at least 17's may want 18's. Any area shops just let me know, I have heard Galloways is a good place, but what are the others?

We are in Raleigh and carry M/T, ProComp, Interco, Dick Cepek, and couple others. And rims.

Do you have a specific tire/rim in mind?

I shopped around the net and found my best price and when I called Down East Offroad, their price was the same. ...course I probably paid the same amount in tax as I would've paid in shipping. ymmv.

find a deal online at tirepackage.com, desert rat, or national tire and wheel and then go tot discount tire and they will match it.

some of the above listed places i have called on and not gotten very competative quotes.

I was going to do the buy 3 get 1 free from Pro Comp and then I called National Tire and the guy beat that price to my door. You've still got to find someone to mount them though. If you are near High Point, there is a small mom and pop joint called OK tire that said he would match any price if I would buy from him. I plan on testing him on my next set.

I'll probably be buying my IROK's from 4wheel parts only because of their "road hazard" warranty. Something to think about with $$$ tires.

Yep...
I blessed 4WP for every time I had cussed them when I got 2 38.5 boggers at Tellico....$50 later I had 2 new tires mounted and balanced (yeah right) with a new lifetime warranty.:huggy:

I got a set of super swampers from National Tire (online) and one was warped. It felt like it was shaped like an egg when i drove my truck. Galloways have tuns and tuns of new and used tires....i'm not sure about their prices though. I'm in the market for a set of tires and wheels for my cherokee now and found a pretty good 'package' deal on this site...http://www.tirepackage.com/. :driver:

I have bought tires from galloways for years but there getting to where they are quite a bit higher than the other shops that are listed on here, even after paying shipping and everything from another source galloways is still higher.

Not local, but DC4WD killed 4WP on price, shipped to my door.
And yes, that was vs. picking them up or having them shipped.
As a bonus, they are a sponsor of this site (is 4WP?).

I think Andy at the Carolina Rock Shop can get a pretty good price on tires and I think he can even get "road hazard" warranty that Rich mentioned above.

If you want cheap tires try

They offer great prices and an awesome warranty. I personally have not need to purchase any tires recently but my friend puddlestomper did and he loved them. There was one tire that got some rock rash while offroading and by the time we were ready for the following weekend trip he already had another one at the doorstep at no charge for him. Talking about a happy customer. Check them out.

AS THE PR GUY FOR THE CAROLINA TRAILBLAZERS,I CAN THINK OF SEVERAL TIRE PLACES THAT HELP SPONSOR CTB. I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO MENTION THEIR NAMES...GALLAWAYS...DOWN EAST OFFROAD..TOWN AND COUNTRY TIRE OF HICKORY..HICKS TOTAL PERFORMANCE MOORESVILLE...X-TREME MACHINES...4WHEELPARTS...GREG SLADE...MOST OF THESE SHOPS OFFER DISCOUNTS TO CTB MEMBERS..THESE ARE SOME BENEFITS OF JOINING A CLUB. ALSO THERE IS SOMETHING TO BE SAID FOR SHOPPING LOCALLY EVEN IF IT COSTS A COUPLE MORE $$$

discount tire has the best deal and a better warranty they anyone . i have had the best service with them

There warranty does NOT cover off road damage. 4wpw SPECIFICALLY does. You could try the wait and argue method, but why bother

National Tire and Wheel. http://www.ntwonline.com/

They are in West VA so it took about 3 days for them to get here. Call them instead of ordering online. They will give you better prices. I got 4 35"x12.5x15 Xterrains for $680 shipped to TN

Ive found the best deals in the classifieds on this board. As far as new stuff, DC4wd has NEVER had a price beat by anyone else on the stuff I have shopped for.

I would buy used but I have to run 17" rims and tires and no one is ever selling 17" stuff, you cant run any less than a 17" rim on my 05 silverado, thanks guys
