Well I was at Sam's this weekend and saw this:

de7500lb_winch.jpg

It is a 7500LB winch made by Champion
Price was :$298

I was like WHAT..

I have never heard of them so this AM I did some research.

Here is there site:

and Specs:

So anyone ever heard of them..
I am curious if they are an off brand of Warn or Ramsey, etc..
My guess was they are like the Chicago electric ones you can get at Harbor freight, where the insides are Ramsey, but figured I would ask and see if anyone knew anything about them???

I've seen one Champion winch on a yj before. Never seen it used. My harbor freight winch on my trailer works pretty good...sometimes have to hit it with a block of wood to get it going again...wouldnt want to have to do that on the trail though :)
IMHO to price them that cheap they have to be cutting corners somewhere.

I've never had a problem with my wifes MileMarker12000...a 9500 mile marker is about $500 right? And you can still find Warn 8000's for about $600

If I was going chinese....www.winchking.com

A friend just bought one of these, the remote is actually sealed and waterproofed. We tore it apart just for shits and giggles and looks pretty quality...

I bought one about 6 months ago, it comes with the fairlead and a mounting plate. I welded a square piece to it to slide into a reciever and welded a reciever to my trailer i have winched about 10 cars on the trailer and one with locked up back brakes about 50 yards up my driveway it hasn't missed a beat. I think for what you get with it its a good deal and it pulls well.

Ive got 1,had it for 3 years, used the crap out it!Got mine from Sam's.I have a 1978 cj-5,it will drag it on level ground with the wheels locked.I really like mine:beer:

For the price i was thinking of mounting one of these on my trailer for some of the non-running crap I buy. Only thing ive seen that might be a draw back is the line speed but, getting unstuck is unstuck at any speed :driver:

I put one on my TJ before I sold it. Pulled the warn off and put that on there because I knew the guy wouldn't use it. I went out that weekend and got stuck to test it. Sure enough it pulled me out without to much trouble. It didn't have the speed of my warn but for the price it was great. For less than $300 I got a winch, fairlead, mounting plate, and snatch block. The mounting plate took some work to get it to fit a TJ and had way to many holes since it was universal to fit nothing. I am actually trying to save up the cash to get one for my trailer.
