Seems most folks I see on the trail don't carry a spare anymore. I always have until now since I cant seem to find a 42" spare. Not sure how I would carry it around either. Never used a spare on the trail either though. What's everyone do with forties for a spare? Just hope you don't need one?

You could do a tube and some tire irons.

Daddy and I keep them on the trailer. He has OBA and I keep a big pack of plugs, if that won't fix it enough to get back then we just plan to run back and get the spare. So far, we haven't needed to.

these 2 are my top reasons why I don't and probably for others too. I've seen tons of people have em on the trailers but it's hard to carry 40/42" spare lol, even more since most people are weight conscious of their rigs. I am going to attempt a cool rear bumper on my Mounty to hold a 42" spare if it won't block my view all the way (yeah right lol) and doesn't stick out a mile haha. I want a spare in the back mostly to keep the rear hatch/window from possibly getting busted out.

Mine just stays back at camp. Only needed it once at this point and sent someone back for it.

Running 42s on the XJ with no spare. Big pack of plugs, mechanics wire, valve stems you can install from outside the rim and OBA. Wouldn’t mind having a spare to keep back at the trailer, but never really gotten around to it. I think you’d be fine, I know the sidewalls on my PBRs and most swampers are pretty decent.

Creates some drag flying through the WV woods back to the scene of of the flat but I always carried a tube/oba and a spare on the trailer. Where we were decided which got used.
