Nice looking rat rod but I would have went with old military wheel and tires.

I'm about to start building a 54 Ford rat rod for my dad...as soon as his gets his front end stuff. It can make it pretty awesome if he will just stay away from it long enough for me to get some work done.

Looks like it is high centered on flat ground.

I think they should have gone with military tires as well, then you wouldn't have the obvious white-letters-in thing going on.

I really dig it though, I really want to build a old Tudor sedan rod that I can haul my family to shows in. Trans Am is a little tight for all four of us.

I like it but does any body see a problem with the drive shaft, or is it just me?

What's that, Terry? That the front one is missing?

that thing is pretty sweet

How is the world to they get the steering to change directions in the firewall.

I would love to see some build up pictures of that thing.

I'd assume it needs to come up 3-4" before the drive shaft unbinds :)

The steering is a dirt/modified/sprint style setup where the box is turned sideways. This is a total aftermarket box/setup...

The older style starts as a heavily modified saginaw box. The pitman shaft is replaced/lengthened with a tube attached to the housing + bearing setup to extend it out, then arm is added.

Sorta like:

Just cool

i think it was JP magazine that did a write up on it...it was built somewhere out west by a high end hot rod builder...(i believe)...
the pics in the magazine are bad ass!

Seen pics befoe from shows.
I like it, but I just don't like the body so low, it's kind of rediculous.... obviously can't be driven like that. I'd love it w/ about 6" clearance.

Bagged and body droped

Not sure what the actuall ride height is

either way, i'd love to have it in my stable :driver:

You do realize it is bagged right, and probably raises up at least that far to drive.

I think it's awesome, I would definitely drive it. All I would change are some old NDT military tires, or at the minimum paint the white letters black.

Randy Ellis built this ride. Randy is a old school rock crawler. He owns Randy Ellis Designs in Phoenix. Really cool Willys, but I agree you several of you, it needs some military tires and wheels.
