Don't be an idiot like me and use the bolts that come with the USA6X6 hub adapter. I had to get on the brakes really hard last night - blue Ford Ranger pulled out in front of me - sheared all the bolts on the right side and continued to brake about half the ears off the rotor. Buy some grade 8's yourself or use ARP and don't be like me!

You mean the 5/16" cap screws that came with it? crap.. thanks for the heads up.. I figured they were grade 8 already!

I did have to chase every single hole on that fawking thing, and one needs to be re-tapped because dumbass put those little bolts about 1/2 way in,. and they banged around during shipping, messing up the threads.

And of course, grinding the flange on the lug nuts isn't great either, but I'm sure it'll hold, and I can see why it was done like that.

THANK YOU for the heads up.

I'm going with longer bolts with about a 1/4' shank, now that I look back those weren't really long enough anyway on thread depth. Guess I forgot to mention earlier about grinding one side of the stud shoulder down. I have to admit the aluminum hat (hub adapter) held up better than I thought. And, since it's apart I might tap in a back up set of holes. Had to weld a bolt to the sheared ones to back all 8 out.

Just got a new rotor over at Heintz Performance behind the speedway - $43

Oh, and for his pinion brake, the bolts that attach the centering ring to the brake rotor are too short to engage the locknut. :shaking:

His bolts were too long for the holes in my aluminum hats - I had to go buy more. And three holes were stripped in one of the hats also.

I guess you got your batch a while back? These bolts are certainly not too long..

SSwaters - how long were the bolts in yours? It wouldn't surprise me if he's changed sizes 5 times already.

I'm out of town, I'll post the length when I get back home.
