My 46 flatty had the word "Jeep" stamped in a cursive script on the box under the passenger seat. Basically if you were sitting in the seat it would be behind your heels. Anyone else ever seen that on thier will-us?

There you go Sarge. The way I look at, If you own one you get to pronounce it as you see fit!
I read in a Jeep History book that Henry Ford was very pissed about the Willys design beating out his Ford prototype for the war department. He fired the entire design team and when Ford joined into producing them for the war effort he stamped the cursive Ford "F" on every part they made... right down to every bolt head!
This would have been the equivalant of Tesla beating out Edision in the AC -vs- DC electricity war of the industrial revolution.

that tool box jeep script is the first time/place the word jeep was ever solidified on a vehicle. on my rust bucket 3A, I cut out it out, cleaned up the logo and have it framed on my dresser. the history of all this is really worth reading, and then you'd all learn how to pronounce the guys name correctly and not guessing at it. my name is Chuck. pronounced 'Cha-uck'. No other way is correct. there was a whole line of Willys vehicles before and after our little beloved 4x4s, check it out.

Chuck, I cut mine out too. After I finish the Scout, I am doing a M715 clone out of a J truck I recently bought. I am thinking about grafting it in some where appropriate. It may go into the tailgate I am going to fab up for it. Nice little chunk of history getting a second life.
