Hi, I am thinking about getting the smittybuilt winch that I've seen for $299, But I don't see anywhere that has a winch plate to go with it.

....the smittybilt winch has the common 4.5 x 10 in pattern that bolts in bottom of the winch....many places/vendors on here could easily supply this but I won't steal their thunder...

I have an XRC8

Hey reddog, I got that winch. I put mine on a hitch plate. Front, & rear hitches, I figured I might as well. I used forklift battery connectors (Anderson type), to be able to use it front or rear. The only thing is, the combo is damn heavy, to move around. Thinking synthetic rope might help lighten it. Anyway, I can't tell you how well the winch performs, because I haven't used it yet. IT was affordable, & will work much better, than that 20,000lb. warn unit, sitting on a warehouse shelf, that I couldn't afford.

you will be happy with that winch . i love mine its pulled everything from a k5 on tons sideways to a h2 on 38" that had sunk to the doors for 2 days. its a little slower than my old warn was but i like that it gives better control on rocks. let me know if u need a plate ill fab ya one for $50.+shipping i have a template for most winches on tjs and yjs and i can get it out same day
