Im trying to get my winch to run but when I hook it to the battery everything goes crazy, I hear sizzling nosies and the battery termal heats up. The termals (blue arrows) have 12V to them. Is that how its suposed to be or what? BTW its a superwinch S9000

See if this helps you out any. http://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech/transalper_incab_winch_control/x9wiring.jpg

His schematic is for an x series, but same thing using the dpdt solenoids. The superwinch is setup differently than my ramsey, but Looks like that very bottom red wire in your pic is the batt+. The ground comes off of the winch motor. Blue, yellow, and other red go to their respective motor terminals. Of course the two small wires go to the winch controller or any switch. Good luck, you might have already fried a solenoid.

yeah ive looked at that and i dont understand it. The post that is inbetween the two goes the the battery. Plus the motor had a diffrent post set-up then the one in the picture

Either of the red wires can actually go to the batt. I misread your post the first time though, if the two blue arrow wires are showing 12v without the solenoids engaged--meaning neither of the small controller wires are seeing 12v+--then your solenoids are fried.

Northern tool sells them. $22 a piece. They might have to order them at the store or online, but that's far cheaper than most places.
