Winch Rope vs. Winch Cable

im sure this has been covered before, but i tried to search and i didnt see anything on it. so i know that a lot of people like the rope better, its easier to work with, and lighter, safer, etc and like everything, im sure it has its downsides too. but i am really interested in the winch rope and i dont know what size/length to get for my Cherokee. i have a Cherokee with a Warn XD9000, i was looking on this site with pretty decent prices but i dont want to get rope that will end up having less pulling capabilities than the wire.
