How bout ya'll?

we picked back up for a little while but this week has SUCKED.
 
This whole year has been slow. I hate to say it, but they need to lay some people off, but they are dead-set against layoffs. However, there's a few folks there who should have been fired long ago.
 
Same here. Nothing's even broke. ('cept me).

I overdid it last weekend hiking and bike riding, so it's fine to have some slack time this week. But you start to worry when the phone doesn't even ring. I think it has something to do with the last of summer vacations, and people gearing up for school to start back, short on both time and money.

We had a birthday party for my mom this past Monday. I was surprised by the number of RSVP's we got with people that were going to be on vacation this week.

Hoping next week is better!
 
I am a tech for ATT, so I always have stuff to do. Whether its routine work, or alarms.
 
I am thankful and blessed that I am slam covered up.
I am up 27% YTD over 2008 and that was a 41% increase over 2007.

I need to catch my breath actually....a SMALL slow down and I would not cry, but I am not asking for it.
 
i work on office equipment and today all i did was install a feed roller on fax machine that we have on a service agreement. So even though i logged and hours labor (out of the 8 hours i was at work) i didnt bring any money in cause that customer paid 6 months ago through the contract. lol, that money is long gone.


the rest of the day i just watched the news and waited for something interesting to talk about on here!

we did have a few walk in sales today. so it wasnt a total waste.

usually when i have week where i absolutley havent done anything everyone calls monday morning wanting their stuff fixed pronto and i stay busy for a week trying not to piss customers off for taking to long to get to them.

funny how that works.
 
BigRedB2, do you not get paid for being at work even if there is nothing to do? Or do you come home and hang out until something comes up? If you have to stay at a shop or office I'd be mad if I didn't get paid.

I got off at 11 this morning and still had 44 hours, I was glad to get off early. We have been swamped, I started this job back the beginning of May, logging over 1000 miles of road time some weeks, and haven't gotten less than 40 hours yet except for one week I took a day off. Working on medical equipment seems to hold steady, people are always gettin sick... Much better than forklifts, I was only getting about 35 hours @ the forklift place.
 
Been real slow for me the last 2 months, but should pick again on the 25th...once the busses show up and drop all the kids off at school. :flipoff2:

Nah, im salaried. I stay at the shop and clean or run errands do paper work, whatever there is to keep busy. Today there was nothing though. really boring day.

We're a small company and im involved enough to know that when im not turning screws we're not making money. I know what that does to the bottom line. I know that effects bonuses and raises, and being able to hire. being able to get new tools. new toys for the shop.

i dont like to just ride the clock and collect a paycheck on fridays.

teachers in this county are just now finding out if they are gonna have jobs when the busses show up.
 
Busy where I work. Screaming hit goals, reduce cost, save money!
As the worlds leader in fiber optic manufacturing, we have many kilometers of fiber to make before we have the world connected. Hope it keeps strong as it is for now!
