Would like to share my expierence this weekend - DUKW swim

One of the members of the military vehicle club I am in brought their DUKW to lake wheeler and took us all for a swim before heading over to the fairgrounds for the show this weekend. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience since there are so few of these still around. The coolest part for me was when I got to drive it!!
I didn't have my deuce up there for the show, so I was stuck driving the HMMWV everywhere

i mean how freakin cool is it to just drive right down the road, down thed ock, and into the water. Wow.

It has a nc tag. My question was whether you had to have it registered as a boat, too? I could just imagine a confused game warden when he stops you on the water and you hand him license insurance and registration.

It looks to be registered as a boat as well. NC 0933 DJ. Those are boat numbers. That is pretty cool!

He lives about a mile from me, he drives it by the house sometimes and usually in the x-mas parade. He's got some other cool military toys and does a good job of getting them restored.

its got a regular car title, as well as a boat title. You can see the boat number plate he hangs when the water. So where you get stopped determines which registration you pull out.
