Wrangler fuel pressure ?

I have a 87 YJ with the 4.2. Just changed oil and filter and after 10-15 miles total of short trips I can see the oils is diluted and smells like gas. Level on the dipstick is still at approx. same spot.
This Jeep has the offenhauser intake and a 1408 edelbrock 4- barrel. I know it's overkill but from some searching it seems it's ok if tuned correctly. I did see on a Edelbrock video that max fuel pressure is 6.5 psi. Anyone know what Psi the mechanical pump produces? Also read that the oem filter after pump and before carb is also a regulator. Is that true and if so what psi does it produce. Any other suggestions as to what may cause fuel in the oil other than excessive fuel pressure?
I did adjust idle mixture by vacuum,warm and correct rpm.

I can't comment on whatever pump you might have but virtually all factory mechanical pumps are 6-7psi. Your cylinder wash and oil dilution is most likely being caused by an overly rich mixture or possibly a misfire. Does the exhaust make your eyes water?

:Edit: you'd be better served to buy a 2bbl adapter and put a 2bbl motorcraft on that thing. Will probably run a lot better.

Thanks for the info. I had thought about switching to the 2100 but it runs really good with plenty of pep over 4.2's I've had in the past. Doesn't load up or flood that I can tell. PO said he installed new plugs and wires. I can see new wires/cap...I guess I should check pressure and if good then check plugs/gap.
It does have an exhaust leak on header that makes it miss until it gets hot. Is that something that affects fuel burning?
