A friend, and fellow CTB member wrote this. I have no idea, so I thought some of the brains here might know or could help
OK, I NEED HELP, Please.
I am pulling my Hair out, I have a few more things to check but I cannot figure out this Gremelon I have.
Does anyone have a "TRUE" service manual (NOT HAYNES, I have Hanyes, No help for my jeep problem) for a 90 Jeep Wrangler YJ with the 2.5 L Throttle Body Injection?
These are my symptoms, Rough Idle "Sometimes"
Stalls when coming to Stop "sometimes"
Sometimes Runs just like new.
When the problem Happens, it is like the ignition is killed.
It seems to do it most during Casual (anywhere from 1500 to 2500 RPM) If it does it and I put my foot in it AKA rev it up to red line, It clears out. Therefore I don't think it is a fuel problem.
Ohmed out the TPS (it seemsl like it is only engaged at idle anyway).
Now, Mine is Throttle Body, old school injection. I read in JP about a Cam Position Sensor, located in the Distributor... but I have no wires going to the distributor other than the Spark plug and coil wire.
Recently I checked Fuel Pressure, Prior to my west trip. I plan to check it again.. The Problem is getting worse, One of the reason's I did not come to Harlan. I need to figure this out before I ride again.
So, If Someone has a GOOD book that can shed some light on it that I can borrow. Or at least tell me it is worth ordering I will call Collins Bros and order one now. But for almost $100...??? OUCH. Or if someone has any other suggestions, I am open to them right now.
Please, No suggestions of just swap another Engine in... That thought has crossed my mind but WILL NOT (cannot happen) for another year or two. Too much money has gone into the Jeep this year.
