IT'S NOW CALLED " THE ROOSTER 106.1" playing country music and having Jonboy and Billy as the morning show.

guess I'll be reupping my XM and buying another for the work van. fawk the local stations, they all suck ass.
 
wow, that's a shock. raleigh has crap for radio anyway though compared to other cities of its size. i can't imagine that a 3rd country station would do too well in this area, but what do i know.
 
I'm stoked that there is another country station here! I havn't listened to the radio in a while, and I turned it on while I was coming back to campus and came across them playing country.
 
I like country music as much as anyone else, but it definitely sucks that 106.1 is no longer a rock station. I really enjoyed 106.1, especially at night time on the way home from wherever
 
99% of modern country is fricken queer. might as well be pop. hopefully this station will follow the direction of 99.9 and play some REAL country regularly.
 
Broadcast radio sucks. The national shows, John Boy and Billy & Bob and Tom, are pretty much four hour commericals for "comedy" CDs, BBQ sauce, and other crap. Since buying Sirius two years ago, I haven't listened to FM for any extended time. The few times I have only serve to remind me how glad I am to have Sirius.
 
Well yeaa, John Boy and Billy may not be the best morning show since sliced bread, but they are a hell of a lot more entertaining than the dam Bob & Tom show.

They spent 70% of their air-time doing this fake-ass chuckling, and never had anything remotely funny to say anyway.

Good riddance. I can put the rock & roll I like on a CD.
 
i'll gladly filter through all the john boy/billy bs just to hear some raeford:flipoff2:

we need something like "the ride" out of the charlotte area around here. an idependent station with minimal advertising and an awesome playlist.
 
95.7 "The Ride" is by far the best FM station in Charlotte. After they dropped Stern and became "The Ride" I could make my hour drive to work without any commericals and only minimal station IDs. They were playing more commericals when I switched to Sirius, but still far fewer than most stations. A couple of years ago, they had a nice writeup in BillBoard Mag saying they were one of the top stations in the country.

I use to listen to 106.1 whenever i head west, and every once in a while when the atmosphere is right i could get it down here... Thats too bad.. I am a country fan, but i usually keep my radio tuned to Octane or Faction on sirius

I'll second that^ The radio here at work is on The Ride right now. I'll turn it off and go to XM to listen to Opie and Anthony though. You Sirius guys can have Stern. I got burned out on his act years ago.
 
The last couple of days I have started hearing adds for High Definition radio. They say no subscription fees just buy the HD radio and go. Adds say the stations are already out there you just cant pick them up. Anybody know any thing about this. How many stations we have , will the HD radio pick up regular stations?
 
Reeelax. They changed 100.7 to be classic rock now..

RDU would have done better if they had better audio quality and power.. I can pick up 96.1 anywhere, but in several spots, 106.1 would get static..
 
Now the only real classic rock we have around here is 106.5..out of New Bern. Like the rest of you, I'll now be adding XM to the garage..."Whistle while you wrench!!"

country music is the most listen to music in the country. There are twice as many country stations than other music. I dont like it all that much but sometimes I can listen. Guess the Texas comes out in me when driving. I like 99X type of music. New Rock, Old Rock, a little grunge, and a little of everything but the "I slape my bitches and pimp my hoes, while sitten on 24's and sipp'n mad dog 20/20." Everything else is tolerable.
 
I'm on a personal boycott of 100.7, They can lick my scrotum for not giving us any warning at all. I bet this Bob & Tom Comedy Tour on the 21st wouldn't have happened if they knew this was coming.
 
gawd damnit I was pissed. I got addicted to bob and tom when I was driving a truck and it's what I wake up to in the morning. now we have two stations playing the same damn morning show 2 clicks apart. looks like it will be lex and terry from now on. there's enough fucking pop country bullshit all over the rest of the dial.

bullshit I tells ya.
