XJ Head Gasket Repair.

What all is required to change the head gasket on a 1990 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0? I know I have to have the head gasket but do I have to buy other gaskets that will need to be replaced at the same time? Also, can you just buy all the gaskets that you need in a set? Thanks for the help!

All you will need is the head gasket, 1 tube of rtv for the valve cover and a fresh oil change when you're done.

Torque head bolts 50, then 75 and finally to 110 ft/lbs in a circular pattern from the center out.

Torque rocker arm bolts to 24 ft/lbs

Really easy job. No need to unbolt either manifold.

Should take about 4-5 hrs with hand tools...
