Looking to upgrade the lights on my XJ, currently has stock sealed beams.

Leaning towards an upgrade to H4 bulbs, I wanted to see where everyone is sourcing parts from these days.

Quadratech has rampage housings, summit has an ARB harness. Would like to get everything from one shop, but not above mixing and matching to get the best setup.

What are you running, do you like it, and where did you get it?

Have you considered retrofitting with drop in LEDs from Amazon? Just find something with a good cutoff.

I did the bulb and harness upgrade for a while and was never that impressed. Just a thought. Same some draw off of your alternator too.

My experience with the no-name LED stuff off Amazon has been that it is a waste of money at best and unreliable at worst. I like the idea of an H4 upfit because I can grab replacement bulbs anywhere if/when one stops working.

I've had mixed results from cheap led's. You need to have the time and patience to send back crappy ones.
The quadratec and Grote brands have been fantastic, but their price reflects that.

These are the ones I bought in college and they work very well. Only down fall is one is slightly on when the jeep is running and the headlights are off. One thing to keep in mind leds may flicker if you don't get the anti flicker harness. They have a decent cut off so they are aim able.

Odd... used cheap Amazon 7"(?) rounds, marked "DOT Certified" 🤣 and it's a HUGE improvement over 1940's sealed beams.
Light is "whiter", magnitudes brighter, decent cutoff and have had zero issues/flicker (feeding them from 55 y/o wiring) over the past 5 years...

E-codes and some 100/55w H4's ordered! I also snapped up a decent relay harness from Amazon.

Driving to work at 6am in the rain on Monday was down right scary! Looking forward to the upgrade.

Swapped in the harness and the new e-spec hella housings and H4 bulbs, what a difference! Pics below, both high beams (before and after)

I still need to aim the lights a bit better, but the overall coverage is great as is.
