So I've read in a few places mention of a rear swaybar on XJs.
I must be overlooking something, but I don't see one (or even where would would go) on my '89.
Was this only later models, or where is it?
'Causei f it's on there, I'd like to ditch it :driver:

Quite a few didnt come with them. It bolted to the "frame" and on the ubolt plates. If you dont see it then it probably isnt their. One trick we came up with was using the peices from the sway bar as "bar pin eliminators" for the rear shocks.

Sorry, not quite sure what you mean?

He means the bolt holes for the rear sway links line up perfectly with where the shock bolts go to hold on the rear pins.

They work as BPEs but they rotate the eye of the shock 90 degrees from where they normally are. Work fine for basic hydro shocks and add about 1-1.5" to the length. With shocks with more complex valving I've been told its not a good idea.

I ran them for a couple of months on some basic shocks and was fine, I don't think I'd try it if I had some bilsteins or such.
