xj roll cages

im wanting to put a roll cage in my xj and would like to see some pics of some others to get an idea of how to do it

This is the cage in my racer. simple, but would require some minor changes if you wanted to keep the hatch.

where do you bolt/weld them to

This one is temporarily bolted to the floor with 1/4" plates sandwiching the floor. i have a set of ruffstuff 3/16" unirail stiffeners which are going on and i will tue the 1/4" plates in to the rails with tube.

On my comanche tied the cage into my rock rails. These rails were welded to oversized plates at the frame and bolted to the pinch rails toward the outside. I never took any high speed rolls in that truck, but it help up well to flops, etc.

Well I've exceeded my bandwidth on Photobucket so I'll post pics in a couple days. However what are your goals? How do you wheel? 2 door or 4 door? Do you use the back seat?

Man, for one second I thought... I used to have a jeep like that.

Lookin good! What rear end did you end up puttin underneath it? I've still got the piece of 2x4 for the passenger side rocker if you're ever around Boone and want to grab it.

its 4 door and i use the back seat its a dd and a weekend wheeler for now
