XJ Steering Box Line Size

I have a 2000 XJ and was wondering what are the size of the fittings on the steering box. Is it 18MM and 16MM or 16MM and 14MM. I understand they are 1.5 thread count o-ringed. I want to convert my fittings to -6 AN and use braided lines.

Also can anyone tell me which fitting is high and low?

I wouldn't use braided lines for the high pressure side, that's for sure.
As far as the diameter of the lines, i'd put a caliper in there and measure it

Rock auto has all of this information. Quadratec has all of the line diagrams in case you can’t find it.

Out of curiosity why couldn't I use braided nylon for the high pressure side? The working pressure of the hose I am using is 500 psi.

And last night I dug out my old power steering pump. Low side is 16MM and high side is 18MM.

Because at full lock you can easily see 1200-1500 psi
We used to have a pressure guage at the dealer to diagnose hydro fan issues with WJs. I would see 1800 psi spikes at full lock on occasion.
