I just bought a yellow 1989 camanche that previous owner said was built by hicks total performance up around mooresville it has a carolina trailblazers club sticker from 2007 just wondering if anybody has any info about it it has the safari looking cage in the back i cant figure out how to post pics thanks

I was working up in moresville while it was being built I kinda watched it go together. I always liked the way he hung the spare in the roll cage in the back. If it still looks like it did when he finished it, you've got yourself a nice jeep.

If its the one he is talking about..here it is years ago...

Lets see some action shots/new pics!

He ran an add in the CTB newsletter a few years back, so I gave him a few stickers.
He's a cool guy and that is one sweet jeep. He had it at the farm a few years back..I spotted him across the rock garden and he was stoked about it.

You got yourself a sweet ride there..Plenty capable, but almost to sweet to take wheeling.

Hicks also built an orange jeep for Dale Earnhardt Jr. I've seen it up close..it's badass..kinda.

Sorry, there is some shitty stuff on there. The lower link mounts are welded to the factory cross member. No good. There is some good stuff too. It just needs a little work if your gonna wheel it hard.

it still looks the same has 35 inch boggers and the suspension has been replaced with a rustys kit seems to be built well and doesnt appear to have been wheeled much i am thinking of cutting the rear cage out does anybody agree?

Yes. But I would go ahead and replace that bed cage with a nice interior cage to protect your noggin. If that is out of the question, maybe you should leave the bed cage as it does at least offer SOME protection in a roll.

Never understood protecting the bed, rather than the cab, though.....

it does have a nice full cage in the cab so i thought about cutting out the bed cage but it is very nicely done just dont need it for the type of riding i do i think it looks more like a camper top tried to add pics size must be too big

Looks life it would be a good point to add front legs to protect the a pillars and foward to the front bumper. You are just up the road from me.

I vote leave..thats what makes that MJ stand out of the crowd.

hey ghost where do you ride around our area?

There is a guy between here and Bishopville that has a nice trail that is getting better all the time. Plus his property boarders the river so if mud is you game then he has that too. I go to URE mainly since its so close. I prefer Callantee and Harlan but you cannot make a day trip out of them.
