hey guys got a question for everyone running the tj shafts in the yj. can i just use 2 driver side seals for the carrier seals? or do i absolutely need the CR11800 seal? im looking to mount the seals just outside the pumpkin. not where the CAD used to be

Never thought of this. I just pulled the CAD mechanism out slid 4340 TJ shafts straight in, made a cover and filled it with oil. It doesn't seem to leak.

the driver side seal is typically too large to fit in the unmachined passenger side tube.

You will need the other seal to seal it up correctly.

If you plan on pulling the carrier, why not just use the CR11800 seal that everyone else uses? I picked one up @NAPA.

I didnt measure mine, but I seem to remember the YJ inner shaft was quite a bit larger than the XJ shaft at the disco area, there was no way the YJ seal @disco would seal. Maybe a TJ shaft is differenet?

the only reason why i am asking is because i have 2 driver side seals on hand and the only CR11800 seals i can find from napa are all the way in monroe. so i was double checking. so the driver side seal is too large?
