YJ engine swap

Does anyone know the cost of swaping a V8 or V6 into a 1995 YJ. And whats the best engine to swap into a YJ.

th cost varies. if you want a injected 350 to a 4.3 vortec. its not cheap.

It can actually be pretty cheap. Some motor mounts, a good used 304-360, 3 core radiator a little wiring and exhaust. If you are running a 4.0 with a AX15, you can use your tranny and Tcase and stock skid. The money comes in when you upgrade the axles, go fuel injection, and all the other ripple effects that just happen to come along with the good ole V8 power.

well right now I got 2.5L so I want more horsepower. Can you use the transmission and transfer case from the 2.5 if you put a V8 in it?

NO. If you want to move from the 2.5 you will need a new trans along with the motor and at least a 23 spline input shaft for the tcase if not a new tcase as well.
